There has been plenty of talk over the past few weeks whether or not the Boston Celtics are open to trading Rajon Rondo who is the best, young asset. Danny Ainge, the team’s president of basketball operations, has decided to put a stop to the speculation.
“I don’t know how many times I have to say it. Rondo’s not being traded,” Ainge told A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com.
As for the recent talk that the Celtics could deal Rondo to the Lakers for Pau Gasol, Ainge said that conversation “never happened”.
Before the season, there was once again talk that Rondo was immature and coach Doc Rivers was tired of dealing with him. But that seems to be in the past now and Rondo has been able to handle the trade speculation, putting up all-star numbers.
There will still be plenty of trade talk surrounding the Celtics with the team deciding whether or not to break up the big three or keep the nucleus together in hopes of making one more run.
