With the news that Dwight Howard will not waive his early termination clause and will remain with the Magic for another season.  Or so that’s the latest being said although we’re still waiting for him to actually sign that paperwork to make it fact.

If he does do that, it leaves the Nets in quite the spot since they believed Howard would be playing for them next year when they moved over to Brooklyn and teaming with Deron Williams.

Even though William can opt out after this season, the Nets are not interested in trading the star point guard according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

Instead, the team has other offers on the table to add to their team and surround Williams says Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

It’s not certain who exactly New Jersey can attract but the bigger question if whether or not they can keep Williams with the club beyond this year.  The talk has been that he could walk away and join Dallas who will have plenty of cap space to sign him to a max contract.
