Fourth-year forward Sean Williams is back with the Texas Legends after drawing a re-assignment from the Dallas Mavericks. The assignment is the 50th in which an NBA player has been assigned to his D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season. And it isn’t the first for Williams this season. It is the third assignment for Williams in the 2011-12 campaign. In 22 games for the Legends, Williams is averaging 15.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 28.5 minutes. Williams has appeared in seven games for the Mavericks, averaging 4.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 9.0 minutes per outing. His NBA career currently features 133 games with averages of 4.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 14.5 minutes.
ILYASOVA REPS D-LEAGUE, WINS NBA EC PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD: NBA D-League alum Ersan Ilyasova (Milwaukee Bucks) was named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 5-Sunday, March 11. Ilyasova averaged 25.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists as he led Milwaukee to a 3-1 record. The productive Ilyasova played for the Tulsa 66ers during the 2005-06 D-League season.
D-FENDERS PICK UP RUSH: Seven-year NBA veteran Kareem Rush (6.4 ppg) has signed with the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Rush (6-5, 215) has appeared in 346 career games for the Lakers, Bobcats, Pacers, 76ers and Clippers during his NBA career. The Raptors selected Rush 20th overall in the 2002 NBA Draft before the Lakers acquired his rights.
CLIPPERS RECALL LESLIE: The Los Angeles Clippers have recalled rookie guard Travis Leslie (6-4) from the Bakersfield Jam. In four games, Leslie averaged 12.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 rebounds in 21.0 minutes for the Jam. The Clippers selected Leslie 47th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft.
PISTONS ASSIGN MACKLIN TO FORT WAYNE: The Detroit Pistons have assigned rookie forward Vernon Macklin to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Macklin was averaging 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 4.2 minutes through 19 games with the Pistons. Detroit selected Macklin 52nd overall in the 2011 NBA Draft following his successful two-year collegiate stint with Florida. Macklin thrived at Florida after a transfer from Georgetown.
LYONS INVOLVED IN THREE-TEAM TRADE: Power forward Leo Lyons is now with the Dakota Wizards following a trade from the Austin Toros. Austin received forward Josh Davis in return. The trade, however, also involved the Springfield Armor. As part of the three-team trade, Dakota moved its 2012 D-League second-round draft pick to the Armor. Lyons averaged 16.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and shot 51.5 percent from the field in 26 games for the Toros. Josh Davis, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies in a recent stint, returns to the D-League for the first time since the 2008-09 season.

NBL CANADA ANNOUNCES ALL-STARS: NBL Canada has announced the team rosters for its inaugural All-Star Weekend set for Mach 31-April 1 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Guards Eddie Smith (London Lightning) and Joey Haywood (Halifax Rainmen) were selected as captains following a vote held among the league’s seven head coaches. The captains chose their teams via conference call. Team Smith will also include Gabe Freeman, DeAnthony Bowden, Omari Johnson, Ricky Volcy, Morgan Lewis, Kevin Francis, Anthony Anderson and Darrell Wonge. Team Haywood will also feature Tyrone Levett, Taliek Brown, Mike Williams, Chris Cayole, Ralphy Holmes, Brandon Robinson, Trayvon Lathan, Darren Duncan and Tut Ruach.
