Minors: Moon’s journey continues in D-League

Former NBA standout Jamario Moon, a veteran player who logged minutes in the minors across the country prior to signing with an NBA franchise, continues to thrive in the D-League. Recently, Moon was named the Development League Player of the Month for games played in March.
Moon averaged 16.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 36.6 minutes in March, leading the Los Angeles D-Fenders to an 8-1 record.
The 6-8 forward shot 52 percent from the floor, 37 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the free throw line during the nine-game stretch.
Players who earned honorable mention recognition for the monthly award were Eric Dawson (Austin), Renaldo Major (Bakersfield), Luke Harangody (Canton), Stefhon Hannah (Dakota), Kyle Goldcamp (Erie), Vernon Macklin (Fort Wayne), Marcus Banks (Idaho), Mike Efevberha (Iowa), Morris Almond (Maine), JamesOn Curry (Springfield), Trey Gilder (Sioux Falls), Dan Gadzuric (Texas) and Jerome Dyson (Tulsa).
DENTMON EARNS CALL-UP FROM RAPTORS: After averaging 22.8 points, 5.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 40 games for the Austin Toros, and following a Call-Up from the San Antonio Spurs earlier in the season, guard Justin Dentmon earned a Call-Up from the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
GRIZZLIES RE-ASSIGN SELBY: Rookie guard Josh Selby has drawn a re-assignment from the Memphis Grizzlies. Selby is now back with the Reno Bighorns. In 23 games with Memphis, Selby averaged 2.5 points, 1.2 assists, 0.6 rebounds and 0.3 steals.
Selby was very successful in a previous stint with the Bighorns, averaging 22.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals in six games.
The Grizzlies drafted Selby in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft (49th overall).
WILLIAMS REJOINS LEGENDS: Former Boston Celtics forward Sean Williams (6-10) has rejoined the Texas Legends. In his debut with the Legends on Thursday night, Williams scored 20 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked two shots in 30 minutes.
Williams has averaged 4.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in a three-year NBA career that has included 134 games thus far. He has played for the New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks.
ROCKETS ASSIGN FORTSON TO RIO GRANDE VALLEY: The Houston Rockets have assigned Courtney Fortson to Rio Grande Valley. Fortson averaged 2.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 7.2 minutes per game for the Rockets. He averaged 3.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 9.1 minutes in nine games for the L.A. Lakers during a previous stint in the NBA.
Fortson earned a Call-Up to the Rockets from the D-Fenders on March 17.
WIZARDS TO SANTA CRUZ IN THE WORKS: The Golden State Warriors is leaning heavily towards moving the Dakota Wizards to make the move to Santa Cruz, Calif. Golden State, which bought the Wizards in June, received a proposal from the city of Santa to move there for the 2012-13 season.
The Wizards have spent the last 17 seasons in Bismarck, North Dakota.
