The Lakers have been looking to upgrade their bench and are close to deal to add some scoring punch

LA is close to finalizing a three-way deal with Portland and Minnesota that would send Michael Beasley to the Lakers according to Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com.  The Blazers would get either Steve Blake or a draft pick while the Timberwolves would receive Jamal Crawford.

It is believed that the Lakers would prefer to include Blake in the deal but Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio says that LA will instead be sending a first round pick to the Blazers.

The deal gives Lakers a scoring option off the bench in Beasley, something that has been sorely missing.  By giving up a first round pick, it could limit their options in making another deal to upgrade their point guard position.

Meanwhile, the T’Wolves add a quality shooting guard while the Blazers get something in return for Crawford who was likely going to leave via free agency following the season.
