Earlier today, the talk was that Dwight Howard was telling his Orlando teammates that he would not be opting out of his contract at the end of the season and would remain with the club for one more season.

Not so fast.

According to Marc Spears and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, multiple Magic have said that Howard did not tell them that he would be opting in for next season.  But that has been amended with Wojnarowski tweeting that Howard told three teammates during lunch that he will indeed opt-in for next season.

Wojnarowski adds via twitter that the all-star center called Magic CEO Alex Martins of his intentions to opt-in but until the paperwork is signed, it is not a done deal.  And he may already be second guessing that decision to remain with Orlando for another season.

In the meantime, both Wojnarowski and Chris Mannix of SI.com have tweeted that the Magic are still speaking with other teams about a possible trade for Howard.

Stay tuned because the Dwight Howard saga is not over yet.  In the meantime, the Magic are in San Antonio tonight to face the Spurs.
